You know, my main problem with this whole Franken thing is, he's a comedian who's not funny! I can't think of a single funny sketch he was ever involved in on SNL. Why is it that we wind up with no talent actors and unfunny comedians running our government? At least Minnesota's last outside the box politician was a successful professional wrestler.

You didn't like Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot?
ReplyDeleteI remember the Stuart Smalley character being funny the time that he helped Michael Jordan deal with his self-image problem. On the other hand, maybe that was just the fact that Jordan as the host was a stiff and the rest of the show sucked. The problem with Smalley was the same as every other recurring character on SNL; they beat it to death.
I do remember one Franken skit from one of the first couple seasons about what things would be like if the Indians had won. The most popular professional sport was lacrosse and the teams were the Pittsburgh Pollacks and the Cleveland Kikes. The symbol for the Cleveland team was a screaming rabbi.
