World War II in the South Pacific

The next book I am going to read is Islands of Destiny:  The Solomon Islands Campaign and the Eclipse of the Rising Son, by John Prado.   My son is a Peace Corps volunteer stationed near the Solomon Islands, and while I have read some World War II history, I realized that most of what I know about the area where he is stationed comes from South Pacific and McHale's Navy.

  1. I really liked Evan Thomas "Sea of Thunder" for a personal look at some of the officers in the Pacific. Like it so much, bought the book twice. (Loaned it out and never got it back.)

    1. Can I borrow it?

BTW, how is it that you have never managed to get yourself banned over at TQA?

  2. Yes, you can borrow it. I live by the principle to loan and never expect the return. That way one doesn’t have to keep track what has been lent out.

I have no clue how I haven’t been kicked off Tough Questions Answered. I expect to about any post I do.
